Rotary Club to donate N.6m to family with triplets

By Emma Amaize
WARRI—THE Rotary Club of Warri, District 9140, has pledged to donate N50,000 monthly for one year for the upkeep of a set of triplets born to the family of an impoverished couple, Mr. and Mrs. Lucky Ebhodje, in Warri, Delta State.

President of the club, Rotarian Gabriel Adoghe,  who announced the gesture, said the father of the triplets, a mechanic, and his wife, a pap seller, wrote a letter to the club requesting for assistance, which was granted after due consideration.

Past District Governor, Chief Isaac Jemide, presented the first cash of N50,000 from the club to the family at a ceremony and charged the couple to use the money for the intended purpose.

It was gathered that the couple was introduced to the club by one Chief Odjevwe who used to buy pap from Mrs. Ebhodje.

He was initially assisting the couple until the pressure became too suffocating for him.

Though a mechanic, Mr. Ebhodje has no place of work at the moment, and he thanked the club for the lifeline and called on other well-meaning organizations and individuals to come to the rescue of the family.

He extolled Chief Odjevwe for what God has used him to do for his family.
