The Director of Automobiles Peugeot France (APF), in Africa, Asia and the Pacific Mr. Jean-Yves Dossal, says that the company has sold over 270,000 Peugeot Sedan cars throughout Asia and South America since the brand started rolling out of the factory.
Dossal who spoke at the Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) in Kaduna said that the only way the Federal Government can protect local industries in the country was to patronize their products on a long term basis.
“In order to protect the Nigerian Automobile industry on a long term basis, to encourage and secure local economic development, future employment, it is vital that the government patronize this industry, as do many other countries throughout the worldâ€, he said.
According to Dossal, the Peugeot Sedan is designed according to the latest international safety standards.
He then expressed confidence that Nigerians would continue to patronize the car which he stressed, is strong and resilient as other Peugeot products in the last 200 years of its history.
“Peugeot has been very strong and resilient throughout the challenging times and is proud of its 200 years history.
“Peugeot will continue to target new markets and develop many new models, some of which will be very well adapted for the international markets.
“This ‘Nigerian made’ car conforms to the highest levels of quality according to our Peugeot standards all over the worldâ€, he added.
