
One of the winners of the three main prizes in the recently concluded marketing promotions by Guinness Nigeria Plc to commemorative its 250 years global existence and to celebrate Greatness, Nigeria’s Mrs. Gbemisola Awofade, mother of six and a proprietress of Mama Ayu’s Bar, Lagos will be travelling to South Africa with two of her sons to attend an exclusive, live performance show by The Black Eyed Peas that forms part of the 250th anniversary of Guinness.
This prize was part of the Guinness global promotion to celebrate 250 remarkable years of this iconic brand, will give the winner and her two sons the opportunity to experience an unforgettable day in the studio with multi_platinum, award winning international artistes, The Black Eyed Peas.
Mrs. Gbemisola Awofade, won the prize simply by buying and enjoying the distinctive taste of  Guinness Extra Stout (FES) like many other numerous consumers of Nigeria’s leading stout drink did in 27 countries across the world, looking at the crowns, and luckily she spotted a raffle ticket, which enabled her to register at the redemption centre for a chance to entered into the global prize draw. The result of this loyal patronage was the prize of a flight ticket for three to travel to South Africa to enjoy listening to good music from the internationally acclaimed award winning The Black Eyed Peas Group, which was presented to the lucky winner by Simon Breckon, Marketing Director, Guinness Nigeria Plc.
Speaking while presenting the prize to Mrs Gbemisola Awofade, Marketing Director of Guinness Nigeria Plc, Simon Breckon said ‘The 250th anniversary of Guinness has been truly remarkable. Speaking also at the event, Adenike Adebola, Marketing Manager, Guinness, commended the lucky winner and spoke a lot on the importance of the consumers of Guinness drinkers to the brewery giant, Guinness Nigeria Plc.
The visibly elated winner of the prize, Mrs. Gbemisola Awofade, who spoke in Yoruba Language said, when she was alerted by Guinness Nigeria Plc, of her winning, she thought the 419ners were at it again and therefore was very shocked when it became real that she actually won the prize. She praised Guinness for being a reliable corporate body that would always stand by their words.
Her husband, Mr. Awofade, was not left out of the fun, he spoke on behalf of his family and praised Guinness Nigeria Plc, for keeping to their words and therefore urged the general public to continue to patronize the reliable brewery giant for keeping to its word and reputation.
In Nigeria, 25 Guinness consumers won the promotion’s grand prize of one (1) million naira worth of house rent each, while many more consumers went home with prizes ranging from N50, 000 cash prize to 1_year’s supply of Guinness Foreign Extra Stout and Guinness Extra Smooth amongst other exciting prizes.
The chance to experience an unforgettable day in the studio and share a Guinness with The Black Eyed Peas is one of three global prizes. The Guinness 250 global promotion was established as part of the worldwide celebrations to mark the anniversary of 250 years since Arthur Guinness founded the Guinness brand.
TIt was a spectacle to behold as the established business woman, mother of six, savoured the bath of euphoria, which pervaded the whole venue of the presentation. The other colleagues of the lucky winner, who also run various bars around the area, were also on hand to add colour to the epoch making presentation.
