Eagles ’ll roll over Kenya, says Chukwu

Former Eagles captain and coach, Christian Chukwu has written off the Harambee Stars of Kenya who are poised to snatch a win against Nigeria in the November 14 qualifiers and win a ticket for the 2010 Nations Cup in Angola.

The Kenyans, armed with a realistic chance of playing at next year’s Nations Cup have stepped up preparations for the Super Eagles in the World Cup qualifiers in Nairobi, but Chukwu who has an inside knowledge of the Harambee Stars said that they lack the fire-power to prevent the Eagles from getting the vital three points at stake.

“With good preparations by the Super Eagles, Kenya shouldn’t pose a threat. There is a wide gulf between the two teams and I believe that the Eagles can get a good result in Nairobi,” said Chukwu who was coach of the Harambee Stars in 1998. Though he acknowledged that the Harambee Stars were more serious with their build-up for the make or mar match, Chukwu tipped the Eagles to win.

“Kenyans want to go to the Nations Cup so they are doing all they can to win. They have played friendly games and the Super Eagles have not.

“But I believe that  coach Shuaibu Amodu know what he is doing. He knows his players and it is up to him, whether he wants to play friendly games or not.
