Continue the good job, lawyer tells Uduaghan

UGHELLI — A legal practitioner, Mr. Jesutega Onokpasa, has enjoined Delta State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, to proceed with a fearless degree of boldness and steadfastness in the implementation of more people-oriented programmes, following his recent victory at the election petitions tribunal.

Onokpasa said in a statement, yesterday, that Governor Uduaghan “must henceforth proceed with a fearless degree of boldness and steadfastness of both vision and pace expected of a man of his enviable antecedents and backg-round.

“In order not to continue to experience frustration from all manner of vested interests in the corridors of power, the governor must seriously and deliberately build up his own political base and executive structure for the purpose of implementing policies envisioned and engineered for the benefit of his constituents.

“He must do this without delay and additionally stand up to those professional politicians with nothing to offer, who have arrogantly refused to cede to him the deserved leadership role and corresponding respect he has earned and is entitled to within the political framework currently prevailing in Delta.

“Dr. Uduaghan must now take charge of the state chapter of his party, the People’s Democratic Party.”
, as he ought to have done long ago and fashion it into a functioning platform with a  credible chance at the forthcoming polls.

“He has no choice but to clamp down on the sort of perplexing corruption that threatens to undermine the image, reputation, and authority he has built over the years. The governor must call his rascally party men to order and force discipline down their throats, whether they like it or not.

“If they refuse to reform, then he must tell them to go to hell and be prepared to send them there. He must equally distance himself from that deadly brood of political prostitutes in Delta who continue to bleed the state dry in the hope that they can eventually abandon the governor to shoulder the consequences alone.

“He must rally those loyal to him and reach out to others outside his party for the purpose of building up his popularity amongst Deltans and demonstrating to his rebellious colleagues in the PDP that they are not indispensable.”
