ABUJA— BARELY 24 hours after he denied media reports that he was planning to run for the Presidency come 2011, Governor Namadi Sambo of Kaduna State has donated a campaign car to President Umaru Yar’Adua’s 2011 presidential ambition.
The car, a Peugeot 307 which was sighted yesterday at the Wadata Plaza of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretariat, has the picture of President Yar’Adua and that of Sambo with the words: “People’s Democratic Party, Kaduna Chapter.”
Although there was no confirmation that the car has been received by the National Working Committee of the party, the Kaduna State governor could be said to be the first governor or politician to have donated a campaign vehicle to President Yar’Adua’s 2011 ambition.
But sources at the national secretariat of the PDP believe the move was an attempt to save his face since it was reported on Monday that the Kaduna State Governor has been penciled down to take over from Yar’Adua.
The allegation and its publication has since been drawing reactions and denial from stakeholders.
The PDP also on the report, handed down warning to governors or politicians planning to take over Yar’Adua’s position, that there is no vacancy in Aso Rock.
