By Emma Amaize

WARRI— YOUTHS suspected to be from Mosogar community in Delta State Monday barricaded the road leading to the College of Physical Education, Mosogar, and attacked the staff and students.

The reason for the attack was not clear but the Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Hope Eghagha, was said to have been briefed about the incident and reportedly looking into the matter.

The invasion of the school disrupted academic activities. According to an official of the Ministry of Education, “the Ministry of Education is aware of the crisis in the college, owing to a disagreement between the erstwhile Governing Board and the union.

The Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Hope Eghagha, waded into the matter with a view to resolving it, shortly after which the Governing Council was dissolved”.

“However, it appears some people are not happy with the decision of the management of the institution on the way forward and have externalized a purely internal affair of the College of Physical Education, Mosogar”, he explained.
