THE Police in Lagos yesterday raised a security alert, alleging that it had received reports that some  youths were finding their ways into Lagos.

These youths, whose mission is questionable, the command said, came in groups from  different parts of the country  to the nation’s commercial nerve-centre.

The command also warned on the sale of dangerous weapons such as cutlasses, cudgels, knives and other items that are offensive to human existence at unauthorised locations.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, Mr. Marvel Akpoyibo, said this during a briefing on the security situation of the state.

He, however, assured that close monitoring and surveillance of the youths’ activities was being carried out, adding that the command was poised to discharging its constitutional obligation of protecting life and property in the state.
