The 30 players selected for camping in the on-going Oceanic Football Talent Hunt with Jay Jay Okocha TV reality show, season 2, were yesterday unveiled at a colourful ceremony that marked the beginning of the next stage of the talent hunt project. Mr. John Aboh, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Oceanic Bank International Plc, the sponsor of the project, reiterated the resolve of the bank to use sports as one of the rallying points for achieving Nigeria’s FS 2020;20 vision.

As each of the players were being introduced to the audience, the Oceanic Bank boss said the 30 young Nigerians emerged from 10,000 youths who went through rigorous zonal and regional screening exercises under the watchful eyes of the legendary ex-Super Eagles Captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha.

He noted that across the globe, the United Nations and other global organisations have continued to set up structures for integrating sports as a tool for achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), pointing out that in the same vein, Oceanic Bank is committed to spearheading the development of strategies and projects that will drive the use of sports, public private partnerships, and human capital development as tools for development and nation building.

“Oceanic bank strongly consider Sports as one of the rallying points for achieving Nigeria’s FS 2020 vision. We believe that our great nation needs to establish sports academies where youths will be groomed in various sporting activities, he added.
