By Yemie Adeoye

LAGOS — AGAINST     the backdrop of the scarcity and rise in kerosene price to N100 per litre across the country, Oando Marketing Limited has commenced massive distribution of the product with a directive to its dealers to sell at N50 a litre.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by its Group Head, Public Affairs, Mr. Meka Olowola, in Lagos, yesterday.

According to him, this was done to alleviate the hardship created by the acute shortage of the product in the country.

The statement added that the firm just took delivery of over 2,300,000 litres of the product and has immediately commenced its dispatch to the critical need areas of the country including Lagos, Port Harcourt, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Benin, Warri, Abeokuta, Ibadan, Ilorin, Akure and Owerri

Commenting on the development, Mr Yomi Awobokun, Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Oando Marketing said, “As a customer-focused organisation, we are naturally concerned by the severe hardship Nigerians are facing due to the acute shortage of kerosene.

This is why upon our receipt of the product, we have immediately dispatched over 60 trucks to various locations across the country to put a smile on the faces of Nigerians during Independence Day celebrations.
