Jigawa to disburse N108m to SMEs

DUTSE  – Jigawa state government has set aside the sum of N108 million as testified grant for the Talakawas across the 27 local government areas with a view to boosting  small and medium scale entrepreneurs’ businesses.

Speaking at the flagging off of the programme, on behalf of Governor Sule Lamido, the Commissioner, State Ministry for Local Government, Alhaji Nasiru Umar Roni, said that the disbursement was performed in 11 local government areas of the state while the remaining 16 local government areas will have their disbursement beginning from today.

Umar explained that the sum of N3,980 will be disbursed to each of the 27 local government areas in the state.

He said that people in different trades such as beans cake, groundnut oil producers, nail cutters, tea sellers, peppers, onion, tomatoes, food forage sellers, blacksmiths and local barbers were targeted as small scale entrepreneurs to benefit from the grant, pointing out that those who fall within this group will receive N5,000 and above depending on the size of the person’s trade.
