The Nigerian Youth tourism agenda takes off on a grand initiative with a practical seminar on how the youth could be mobilized and assisted to play leading roles in tourism sector.
The two days event packaged by Global Initiative For the Development of Youth Tourism (YTI) a non governmental tourism organization and targeted at the Nigerian youths, would dwell on key practical strategies, using Arts/Crafts, Nigerian indigenous food and fashion, dance and drama as tools to re_orientate youths on the various benefits of tourism.
Ijeoma Udeagbala, the â€œchief cookâ€ of the NGO, says that the event which is the first of its kind in Nigeria is endorsed by Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) and House Committee on Tourism, would take place at Cyprian Ekwensi centre for Art/Culture, Area ten, Garki Abuja on 19th and 20th October.
According to her â€œwhat we have arranged and packaged would not only excite the youths, but also the various publics challenged by the need to address the future of the Nigerian youth, using the platform of tourism.
To show the relevance of the effort, the Federal Ministry of Tourism and Culture has thrown its weight behind the dream, which is also supported by National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), National Gallery of Arts, National Council for Arts/Culture, National Institute for Cultural Orientation (NICO).
