GOLDEN Eaglets coach, John Obuh has begged Nigerians not treat them like the Green Eagles. “We know that Nigerians are angry over bad results of national teams. But we beg them not to boo us in our opening match against Germanyâ€, Coach John Obuh pleaded.
Speaking shortly before their tune up match against Julius Berger FC of Abeokuta in Lagos, Obuh recalled a nasty experience they had from Nigerian fans at the Abuja National Stadium where they were booed. “No matter what has happened in the past, I beg that Nigerians should give these
boys chance to perform. They are young boys. They don’t have the heart to withstand jeers. We don’t want anything that will dampen their moral. Nigerians should encourage the teamâ€, Obuh passionately pleaded
Apparently aware of the fact that Nigerians are troubled by the results gotten so far from the senior teams, coach Obuh said his mind is focussed on their first match against Germany. “The first match against Germany will be tough one. We need to win to go all out for the other matches. We know the expectations of Nigerians are high but we need to be encouraged to start on a good noteâ€.
On the eligibility of the players in his camp, coach Obuh vouched that they were below the age bracket. “On the issue of MRI, my players have passed that hurdle. All the players I have now are young boys. Nobody imposed any player on meâ€.
