Idoko before his team defeated Shooting Stars FC in a week five game, revealed to Insideout of the Glo Premier League that he signed a three year deal with the state government and plans to develop football from the grassroots within that period.

Idoko admits it’s a tough task but stressed that he was not afraid of new challenges, adding that the new challenges was part of the reason he left Warri Wolves for Sunshine Stars.

“The challenges here are tough. I met with the governor and he is a sportsman who wants to develop football in the state and also use it as a means of getting the young ones off the streets. “He is determined to achieve and after our meeting I knew the challenge was real and thus made up my mind to achieve the set objective.

“The governor set up an agency known as Ondo State Football Agency with the objectives of developing football from the grassroots and use it as a medium to provide the youth with jobs and career opportunities for both players and coaches”, he said.
