Ilorin – Former senatorial candidate of the Action Congress in Kwara State, Arc. Lola Ashiru has said that mass defection of politicians to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), both at the national and the state levels, add no credit to the party.

He said that those who defected are unprincipled and hungry politicians looking for what to eat. Speaking with newsmen in Ilorin, weekend, Ashiru said the defection of the politicians has not swayed the opinions of the masses of the country on the performances of the respective governments.

Ashiru said politicians that abandon their parties for the ruling ones did so not because they were attracted by the performances of the ruling parties but because of “their insatiable appetite for amassing wealth”.

He said the defection   may create the false impression that the ruling parties are making life better.
