Warri South-West councillors suspend revenue committee

WARRI—THE Legislative arm of the Warrri South-West local government Council in Delta State has suspended the operations of the Local Government’s Committee on Revenue Generation on Multinational /Oil Servicing Companies following complaints on its performance.

The legislature, in a letter to the chairman of the council, signed by the clerk, Skinn T.G, said the resolution to suspend the operations of the committee was taken after the chairman and members were interrogated by the House, which observed a plethora of cases of sharp practices.

According to a letter, dated September 7,  “the operations of the Revenue Committee on Revenue Generation on Multinational /Oil Servicing Companies in the local government headed by Mr. Toju Omatsola is hereby suspended with immediate effect pending the outcome of further investigation on its operations in the local government .

“All the oil companies operating within the confines of the local government are hereby advised to stop further dealings with the committee on behalf of the local government council.”

The clerk in a separate letter to the chairman also announced that the members had proceeded on a three-week vacation and urged him to work out all the financial benefits associated with recess exercise.
