Nigeria firm wins IT franchise for Africa

Abuja – A Nigerian company, Interweb Satcom based has been awarded the sole franchise to do internet-coverage in the entire African Continent, as part of the new Africa-to-Africa project in Canada.

“The new internet service, via the Trans Africa satellite when fully operational from September this year will make internet very affordable for Africans including Nigeria,” Mr. Chester Szkarlat, the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Canadian firm, Juch Tech Incorporation said.

Chief Executive and Managing Director of Interweb Satcom, Mr. Monday Okpebholo who was in Canada on a mission to seal the deal with Juch Tech said that the continent will begin to enjoy better internet services beginning from the first week of October.

“We inspected the equipment and facilities of the Trans Africa project and expressed joy that the new Hub on Satellite technology which have been tested and commended for excellent services ‘will greatly improve our internet against such problems like climate and forest zone which are peculiar to the continent”, he said.’
