To meet the escalatingÂ demand for content and connectivity across Africa, SES WORLD SKIES, a division of SES S.A), saysÂ Netcom Africa has signed a multi-year deal to expand its delivery of telecom and broadcast television services throughout Nigeria and West Africa.
Under the new agreement between the two companies, Netcom is expected toÂ augment its existing capacity utilizing multi transponders on Ku-band that will enable Netcom meet rising demand for its broad range of telecom and broadcast television services among businesses, universities and consumers in cities and towns acrossÂ Nigeria and other West African nations.
The Group Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Netcom Africa, Yen Choi said ASTRA 2B satellite offers 16 Ku-band transponders that provide beam coverage over West Africa.
According to him, the spacecraft is alsoÂ fully capable of providing highly reliable Internet, telecom and DTH services in the fast growing region, addingÂ thatÂ NSS-10 is a high-powered C-band satellite at 322.5 degrees East serving regional, transcontinental and transoceanic customers in North America, the Caribbean, South America, Europe and Africa.
