Jigawa woos investors with free land

Dutse — The Jigawa State Government on Sunday in Dutse announced the allocation of free plot of land to any investor willing to build a hotel in the state.

Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives and Tourism, Alhaji Muktari Birniwa, made the announcement during a celebration of the World Tourism Day.

Birniwa added that with the efforts of Governor Sule Lamido on tourism, any investor willing to build hotels or any other investment that would boost tourism in the state would be offered a free plot of land.

He said government had been making serious efforts to develop tourist sites such as Birni Kudu rock paintings, Baturiya birds sanctuary and sand domes in Jahun and Kiyawa, among others.

In his remark, Lamido said his government had set aside some incentives for any investor willing to engage in tourism related investment.

Lamido, who was represented by the Commissioner for Information, Youths and Sports, Alhaji Aminu Mohammed, assured investors of a conducive atmosphere to run their businesses in Jigawa.
