I didn’t promise my boys N10m to drop arms, says Boyloaf

FORMER commander of the    Movement for the Emancipation of         the Niger-Delta (MEND), Mr. Victor Ben, alias “General” Boyloaf whose boys were said to have revolted against him in Bayelsa for failing to pay them N10 million he promised them for agreeing to accept amnesty and drop their arms says he never made such a promise to anybody.

In an online press statement, yesterday, he said,  “ I gave up arms struggle with all genuine intent , I told the Nigerian nation clearly when I led 32 of my leaders to the Presidential Villa,  Abuja to accept the government amnesty. My reasons were simple and clear.

The Federal Government made a promise to correct the injustice done to the people of Niger Delta, and commence development of the region.  I told the world that I was given up the arms struggle, and I kept to my word when on the 22nd of August I surrendered all the arms and weapons in my possession. I still remain a man of my words, I will never change”.
