…to bury him beside his mother

In obedience to the wish of the late human rights activist and Lagos Lawyer Chief Gani Fawehinmi, the family members have dug his grave beside that of his late mother Alhaja Munirat Fawehinmi who died six years ago.
The family members in the town and others from Lagos and other parts of the country met Wednesday and agreed to abide by the wish of the deceased.
A member of the family told Vanguard Thursday that the family was unanimous in agreeing to bury Gani close to his mother according to his wish.
The member who spoke in confidence said all arrangements have been perfected to ensure a befitting burial for Gani on Tuesday next week.
Also the Information Commissioner, Ranti Akerele said arrangement on the lying-in-state of the deceased at the Akure Sports Complex have been completed.
Akerele added that the governor is in high spirit to receive Gani on Monday before he would be finally taken to his home town, Ondo for burial.
The Commissioner said that security have been beefed up as the police had assured that they are on top of the situation.
It would be recalled that the police have deployed its men to Ondo town, the home town of the deceased and Akure, the Ondo state capital to beef up security.
