AWKA— ANAMBRA state government says it will continue to partner with donor agencies and corporate organisations, who have the interest of peace, growth and development of Anambra state at heart by ensuring that government meets its obligations to them at all time.

Governor Peter Obi, who gave the assurance in Awka, at an interactive session organised by the state Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget and representatives of donor agencies working in the state, urged the organisations to always inform government of what is required of it to make the cooperation very effective.

He also requested them to see themselves as critical partners with the state towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals by 2015.

Commissioner for Economic Planning, Prof Chinyere Okunna, who spoke at the occasion explained that the purpose of the meeting was for officials of the Ministry and the agencies to know one another and areas each of them was operating  on to avoid duplications.

She said that as a data-conscious state, the meeting would also enable the state government plan properly.

“Recently, Governor Obi won the most data-friendly government award. It becomes imperative that we shall continue to lead by example by having the data of the agencies working in the state, and this is one of the aims of the meeting,” she said.
