Former Super Eagles defender, Bright Omokaro has said that the choice of  Spain by Flying Eagles coach, Samson Siasia for the final phase of the team’s camping has nothing to do with Nigeria being in the same group with Spain at the U-20 World Cup slated for Egypt next month.

Omokaro in an exclusive interview with Saturday Vanguard sports in Lagos said that camping in Spain will expose the players as some friendly matches would be played with some clubs  there to select the best among the players, adding “its amazing why Nigerians are questioning his choice for the final camping.”

“I don’t know why we always entertain fear because Spain was chosen as the Flying Eagles’ camp? Camping in Spain will even help us since we are going to test our might with some clubs that play good football over there before crossing over to Egypt for the competition”.

He said the fact that the team was formerly handled by someone else did not mean that there should not be some changes to fill the loop holes in the team .

Siasia was in charged of the Flying Eagles to the World Youth championship in the Netherlands in 2005 where the team won silver medal after losing 2-1 to Argentina in the final.

The former defunct New Nigerian Bank, NNB player who said that Siasia was a tested coach and had proven it to the world as he was rated 15th best coach in world and second in Africa, affirmed that there would be nothing in his mind now than to win the trophy which has never been won by an African team.

“I believe that Siasia picked the best and I want to tell you that his aim is to break the jinx by winning the trophy which no African country has ever won,” said Omokaro.
