Traditional rulers seek review of allowances

Onitsha – Traditional rulers in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra state,  weekend demanded the upward review of monthly allowances for royal fathers in the South East.

Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council, Aguata, Igwe Alfred Onwuneme, who spoke with reporters on the occasion of the New Yam festival, said though the Governor of Anambra state, Mr Peter Obi, was doing his best in the area of welfare of traditional rulers in the state, but there was need for government at the federal and state levels to review their allowances.

According to him,  traditional rulers in the South East were the least remunerated when compared with their counterparts in other parts of the country.
