Dutse – Jigawa state government has approved the release of N2.3 billion for the renovation of 400 primary and post-primary schools across the state, Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Professor Rukayyatu Ahmad Rufai, has disclosed.
Briefing newsmen in her office, Prof. Rukayya said that out of the fund 300 sets of computer will be purchased for onward distribution to ten selected junior secondary schools aimed at enhancing science and technology subjects.
She said the state government has expressed its concern over the poor condition of the primary and post primary schools in the state noting that it became necessary to salvage the status of education in the affected institutions of learning by providing the students with a conducive atmosphere of learning.
The commissioner stated further that with the renovation of these schools as well as the provision of working materials, the policy of the state government on revitalising education sector would be actualised.
