Jang faults dissolution of Plateau PDP exco

By Taye Obateru

Jos – Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State has faulted the dissolution of the state executive of the PDP in the state, saying he was yet to be officially communicated over the matter despite being the party’s leader in the state.

Receiving members of the Caretaker Committee set up by the National Working Committee of the party on yesterday, he said it was surprising that such a decision was taken at a time another meeting for the reconciliation of the two factions had been scheduled.

“I was outside the country when I heard that the State Executive of the party has been dissolved. Up to this very moment the decision has not been officially communicated to me. I only heard about it like any other person,” he said.

He said while he cannot stop them from doing their assignment in the state he felt things should have been done differently.

Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, Chief Abu King Shulluwa, said the primary assignment of the committee was to reconcile the aggrieved party members and reposition the party to maintain its leading position in the state.

He said the committee would conduct congresses from the ward to state levels as part of efforts to provide a level playing ground for all party members.
