Jos -Â Commissioner of Police in charge of Plateau State during the 2008 November 28 crisis in the state capital, Mr. Samson Wudah, yesterday, appeared before the Prince Bola Ajibola Commission investigating the crisis but gave evidence in camera.
Wudah, who is now the Assistant Force Secretary, was invited by the commission to respond to allegations against the police by some people who appeared before it.
Those concerned were also asked to be present at the sitting and their counsel who were poised to take on the former police commissioner on some issues never had the opportunity.
Following the announcement of Wudah’s presence, Police lawyer, Columbus German, made an oral application for him to give evidence in chambers.
He said since his evidence would contain security information, it would not be expedient to give it in the open. The application was not opposed by the commission’s lawyer, Paul Agbo and was, therefore, granted by the commission’s Chairman, Prince Bola Ajibola.
He was subsequently ushered into the chambers where he gave evidence.
The commission is expected to conclude its sitting Friday to begin the compilation of its report which is expected to be submitted by month end.
