Customs boss charges officers to justify promotion

Customs Area Controller  (CAC) of Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Iya Abubakar Umar, has charged recently promoted officers in the command to justify management’s confidence on them by putting in their best and providing leadership in the discharge of their duties.

Umar who gave the charge in Lagos while decorating the 23 promoted officers, said the officers should see their promotion as a challenge for high productivity because management would be keeping a keen eyes on them.

He called on other officers in the command to see the promotion of their colleague as a challenge for them to re-double their efforts in the discharge of their duties, if they want to be promoted in the next promotion exercise.

Those who were promoted includes 12 Chief Superintendents of Customs (CSC) who now wear the new rank of Assistant Comtrollers (AC) of Customs while 11 AC were decorated with the new ranks of Deputy Comptrollers.
