Wazobia Linux partners with Metasys of Brazil

One of  the Brazil’s leading software companies International Syst, developers of the Metasys software has entered into an exclusive partnership with Leapsoft Nigeria limited.

The partnership,  a first for any Nigerian software company, will be launched at the Nigerian computer society conference slated for Abuja by this month.
International Syst and Leapsoft are jointly  developing and marketing a suite of software applications and customized solutions for the Nigerian market which when fully developed will be  branded Metasys Wazobia.
The partnership was structured by Leapsoft executives Bolaji Onibudo and Tola Talabi at International Syst headquarters in Brazil.

Leapsoft , which had experienced gradual market acceptance in its Wazobia Linux operating system an innovative strategy of introducing software in Nigerian languages.

The move was  seen by keen observers as a threat by Microsoft which has since followed Leapsoft’s lead to develop software with support for Nigerian languages.

However, the new philosophy at Leapsoft goes beyond operating systems or OS and
focus more on applications as OS becomes more of a commodity.
According to Onibudo this is why the Metasys partnership is key in having a timely go_to market strategy.

“The time is right for a global alliance that enable us deliver more value to our clients. Metasys has successful cornered the Brazilian market by providing tailored software solutions, this partnership will allow both companies to do the same in the Nigerian software space.

This is appears to be good for Nigeria and the African market as more value_adding synergies are created to help serve our needs.
“Many companies bring distributorship to the table, but Leapsoft required more value_add in this partnership, perhaps this will a new begining in Nigeria where software is jut not dumped on us but built to our specifications”  Onibudo. said.

For Mr Talabi of the International Syst headquarters in Brazil,  the partnership is right because it brings together two companies who have a shared vision in delivering solutions in education, enterprise and the public sector tailored to a unique market.
