Odili denies owing banks, demands apology

LAGOS—Chief Victor Odili,  former Chairman of Liberty Bank PLC in liquidation, has denied ever owing the bank,  claiming that instead it is NDIC that is owing him N153 million as part of his deposit in the bank after deducting the N50 million one of his associate companies owed the bank.

As a result, he is demanding from the Senate President, its relevant Senate committee and the NDIC a full unequivocal and complete retraction of the said allegations against him together with an unreserved written apology to him for the embarrassment and unquantifiable damage that the same may have caused him, having regard to the falsity thereof, be made, tendered and publish  within 7 (seven) days.,the former Managing Director of the bank, Chief Lawson Omokhidion, spoke on his behalf.
