Moneywise publishes ‘Wealth Report’ on Lagos State

Moneywise, Nigeria’s premier personal finance company, is set to publish “The Lagos Wealth Report”.
The report, which will be published in September 2009, will be the first in the series of reports on how state governments in Nigeria utilise public funds to create wealth for their citizens.

The debut publication will be an assessment of how Lagos State, under Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, has created wealth for the residents and indigenes.
The report will also do a spotlight on the role of corporate organisations that have worked with the state government to make this possible.
The survey will be anchored by Moneywise Board of Editors and analysts working with their network of local and international analysts to bring a fresh dimension to the project.

Integrating all the facts available at disposal, the organisation intends to deliver a captivating and incisive survey that would reveal:
• The overall wealth- creating capacity of the Lagos State government since the inception of Raji Fashola’s administration.
• The creative dimensions employed by the state government to support entrepreneurship genuinely in the country.

• How Lagos State government has worked with the private sector organisa-tions to create more wealth in the state.
• The level of success achieved by the state government in implementing its development plans especially the 10-point agenda.
• Corporate organisations that have made this possible.

• How government organi-sations and agencies worked with the state government to make this possible.
Moneywise, in this report, will measure the performance of the state based on its popular 6Ms of money parameters.
Moneywise Editor-in-Chief and CEO, Mr. Ayo Arowolo,   noted that the overall objective of the state reports is to enhance accountability and performance in the pubic sector.

Arowolo said the report would be independently published by Moneywise and not sponsored by the state.
“Ultimately, our goal will be to develop a rating competence on state,” he said.
He noted that the report which will be widely distributed both within and outside the country will be officially presented sometime during the year.
