Anti graft war: A-Ibom ‘ll not use illegal means —CJ

UYO—Akwa Ibom State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice,Mr. Ekpenyong Ntekum, has said the state government would not use unconstitutional means to fight corruption and criminal activities in the state.

He also stated the resolve of Governor Godswill Akpabio to achieve zero tolerance of abuse of fundamental human rights.

Mr. Ntekum, who spoke while addressing newsmen in Uyo, said:  “As an administration led by a lawyer and anchored on the rule of law, Akpabio desires to achieve zero tolerance for corruption by prosecuting the law on corruption within the ambit of the law.   We can fight every crime and enforce every law without going outside the constitution.”

He emphasized that the success of the war against corruption would determine the future of the state in her march to becoming an investor’s haven.

According to him, “for Akwa Ibom to take her proper place as a state in the country, the people must, without delay, do away with evil, embrace transparency and cue into the AK seeds vision.”
