A former Super Eagles international, Victor Ikpeba, and ace broadcaster, Larry Izamoje, have defended the style of Coach Shaibu Amodu during games.

Ikpeba and Izamoje were speaking during the television programme tagged ‘World Cup countdown’.
The former Monaco player said it was sad that people criticized Amodu for staying on his seat during games as the number one person of the technical crew.

Ikpeba said, “People say so many funny things and I wonder where they get that from. It is just a matter of style. A coach sitting down is also doing a job to ensure the team wins.

“What is important is to get the job done and how he does it is left to him. So far he is doing well and deserves our support to take the team to S’Africa.”

Izamoje, the Chief Executive Officer of Brila Group, the outfit that packages the programme, stressed that Amodu was doing the ‘match_reading’ for Daniel Amokachi to pass on to the players.

“The two coaches cannot stand up same time and we have to understand the style of Amodu. The system is working well so far for the team and we have to appreciate that,” he said.
