2011: PDP warns against endorsement of candidates

By Vincent Ujumadu

AWKA—THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has directed its leadership at all levels not to endorse any political office seeker, warning that any party official who flouts the directive would be sanctioned accordingly.

National chairman of the party, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor who spoke through the party’s national auditor, Chief Samuel Utom yesterday in Awka, Anambra state, at the commissioning of vehicles and other items donated by the acclaimed godfather of Anambra politics, Chief Chris Uba to the PDP for campaigns.

He said the concern of every party official at the moment should be to ensure that lasting peace returned to the party throughout the country.

“At the National Working Committee (NWC), we operate an open door system and as we march towards the elections in 2010 and 2011, we must ensure a level playing field for everyone who is interested in participating in the elections.

That is why the national chairman had directed that all leaders at every level should not endorse any candidate. At the appropriate time, PDP will decide who will carry its flags. Any executive member of the party who flouts this order will be seriously sanctioned,” he said.
