UGHELLI—LEADER of Patani Local Government chapter of Delta State Youth Development Committee, Mr. Godspower Asiuwhu, has charged local government council chairmen across the country to be more responsive to the development of their council areas.
He also commended the Patani local government council chairman, Mrs. Josephine Abeki, for embarking on developmental projects in the council area.
Asiuwhu, who spoke when the committee paid the council chairman a courtesy visit in her office recently, said the council, under the present administration, has embarked on 46 projects, adding that some were completed while others were ongoing.
According to him, the council is witnessing some level of development in this political dispensation and expressed the readiness of the committee to partner with the local government council as long as the council, under the headship of Mrs. Josephine Abeki, continued to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the area.
He appealed to all stakeholders to support the council chairman in her effort to develop the council area.
Asiuwhu, however, appealed to her to continue to spread the projects across the entire council area and advised her not to concentrate in one area of the local government.
Asiuwhu also told the council chairman to work out policies and programmes that could engender the development of the youths of the council area.
In her remark, the council chairman, Mrs. Josephine Abeki, said the council was committed to the overall development of the area and solicited for the support of all stakeholders and thanked the group for the visit.
