Former Green Eagles  defender, Sylvanus Okpalla has picked out two players, Seyi Olofinjana and Kalu Uche as the weak links in the Super Eagles World Cup qualifier at the Abuja National Stadium last Sunday.
Okpalla who said he personally came to Abuja to watch the match because “it has been a long time since I watched the Eagles liveâ€, said the midfield collapsed because Olofinjana and Uche were not creative and allowed the Kenyans free ride in the middle.
“These Kenyans are good, their attackers don’t know how to score. You see how they are playing with confidence as if they are playing at home,†he said, stressing that the Eagles would still need a player like Taye Taiwo.
The former Enyimba of Aba and Rangers of Enugu coach said that if the Kenyans had equalised after the Eagles defence had been ripped open and goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was displaced, the game could have been very difficult for the Shaibu Amodu-tutored side.
Meanwhile, coach of the Harambee Stars of Kenya, Antoine Hey has blamed his side’s loss on the fluffed chances, stressing that if they had taken their chances, the story could have been different.
