NAHCo attributes Delta Air’s smooth Abuja inaugural flight to its handling

The Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCo) has attributed the smooth take off of Delta Airlines’ inaugural flight from Abuja to New York, via Senegal, to the seamless ground handling services it rendered the airline.
According to the company, handling activities on the flight executed with a Boeing 757 aircraft were supervised by Hebert Odika, Lagos Zonal and Commercial Manager and Hassan Yahaya, NAHCo Station Manager, Abuja.

Managing Director,CEO of the company, Mr. Bates  Sule, said NAHCo was delighted that the partnership with Delta Air had been extended to cover the new Abuja international route, as it also handles the airline’s operations from the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos.

He noted that the choice of NAHCo by Delta Air was in continuation of the already existing mutually beneficial partnership through which NAHCo provides comprehensive ground handling services to Delta’s scheduled flights from Lagos.

Sule said that, as matter of priority, NAHCo was exploring all options to leverage on excellent service delivery and customer satisfaction through aggressive manpower retraining and equipment purchase.
He said a large number of assorted brand new ground support equipment had already been bought and deployed in the various operation stations of the company, under the equipment replacement programme which is earmarked to cost about N700 million in 2009.

Also Commenting on the flight handling, Herbert Odika, Lagos Zonal and Commercial Manager, said it was a welcome development for NAHCo and thanked the management of Delta Air for the opportunity given NAHCo to be a key player in the successful take-of of the flight.

Odika aid that NAHCo was ready to provide for the airline other essential ancillary services beyond ground handling.
Delta Air’s maiden flight in Nigeria was successfully handled by NAHCo in Lagos in 2007.

NAHCo is already successfully handling reputable airlines such as British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Nigeria, Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, Ethiopian Airlines, Emirates, Kenya Airways, Royal Air Maroc, South African Air, Dana Air, Turkish Airlines, Allied Air, Aero and Iberia, among others.

NAHCo is the only Nigerian member of aviance, an alliance of 14 world class airport service providers operating from 87 airports in 19 countries of the world. The company is also a member of The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA).
