PORT HARCOURT—RIVERS state government has given illegal occupants of quarters in Government Schools in the state seven days within which to vacate the accommodation or face the wrath of the law
Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi gave the directive yesterday during an unscheduled inspection tour of on-going projects embarked upon by the state government in parts of the state.
The governor said the directive had become imperative as the structures would be demolished to pave way for the construction of another model primary school as a result of the high population of pupils in some institutions.
Governor Amaechi also ordered the demolition of shops around the schools. He visited  Community Secondary school, Rumuapara, and State School, Orogbum at D/Line, where he directed the construction of another model primary school, based on the high population of pupils in Orogbum.
Amaechi also inspected the Elekahia Model Primary School under construction, the Oginigba/Trans-Amadi road as well as Rainbow Town Housing Estate.
