Give us one goal — Kalu charges Eagles

Three times the Eagles  Played Tunisia at away, thrice the Nigerians failed to score in those World Cup Qualifiers. This record must be erased tomorrow. That is the prayer of Pillar of Sports, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu.

Kalu who plans to storm Rades to cheer the Eagles to victory predicted that his country men would score their first ever world cup goal on Tunisian soil to run away with a slim win.

“Just one goal and the Tunisians will be dazed, unable to level up. You know, the Eagles drew goalless on the botched road to Argentina ‘78, lost 0-2 prior to Espana ’82 and lost again 0-2 to crash out of the Mexico 86 qualifiers. Scoring in Tunisia is all the Eagles need” Kalu said.

The pillar of sports pointed out that the Eagles have what it takes to jolt the North Africans in their backyard.
“There is the Enyimba spirit. What do I mean by that? In 2004, the Aba Elephants defeated two strong Tunisian teams, Esperance and Etoile Sahel to win the CAF Champions League for the second time. In the two away matches, Enyimba  scored vital goals. Vincent Enyeama, Yusuf Mohammed, Obinna Nwaneri and Dele Aiyenugba were in Enyimba then.  Today they are in the Eagles team”, Kalu revealed.

He added that Tunisia’s World Cup edge over Nigeria would end at the end of the day to pave way for the revival of the country’s soccer.
“The Jinx will be broken. Eagles never qualified for the World Cup anytime they met the Reds in the qualifiers. That is history. We also have boys who are willing to make history”, the former Abia state Governor stated.

“Captain Nwankwo Kanu is one player out of this world. He has the magic to meltdown Carthage. My Igbere Kinsmen Kalu and Ike Uche are true warriors. From Rades, they will send smiles to Godwin Odiye in America, Emmanuel Okala in Enugu, while the duo of Aloy Atuegbu and Muda Lawal heave a post humous a sigh of relief”, Kalu stressed.
