A group of concerned Civil Servants in Yobe State has condemned in strong terms the action of the State branch of NLC in applying and collecting loan for selected Civil Servants from a bank without following due process as stipulated in the civil service rules and regulations.
They have also decided to drag the matter to the EFCC and ICPC.
In a statement signed by one Comrade Musa Abdullahi on behalf of the concerned civil servants, the group urged Governor Mamman Bello Ali "to kindly intervene in this matter by authorizing the Ministry of finance to stop henceforth, the transfer of salaries of civil servants to the bank and send same to the initial banks where the salaries were being paid until all abnormalities are corrected.”
The group pointed out that:''so many civil servants have not taken the loan but unfortunately deductions are being made from their salaries which we feel is not in order.”
The group further stated that: ''the bank made the loan available in the name of the NLC instead of the names of the individual civil servants.”
Because of this particular anomally: ''the pay slip of some innocent civil servants have been stolen and used to process the collection of the loan and deductions have since commence without the consent of the workers,” the statement added.
The group that protested at the government house on Tuesday expressed their gratitude to the state governor for his forecast, understanding and human development initiatives.
