Daniel's aide slams N10m suit on Iyabo Obasanjo E-mail

A private security aide attached to the Ogun State Governor, Mr. Bamidele Oladimeji, has instituted a N10 million suit against Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello at the  Federal High Court in Ibadan, alleging that she assaulted him on November 15, at a church service in Ogbomoso,  by repeatedly hitting him on the chest in the glare of the public.

Oladimeji is also asking for a public apology from Senator Obasanjo-Bello.

Meanwhile, counsel to the applicant, Mr. Bamidele Aturu, is also asking the court to declare that the alleged assault and intentional beating of the applicant by the respondent is callous, inhuman, degrading and constitute a gross violation of the applicant’s right to human dignity, guaranteed by Section 34 of the 1999 Constitution, as well as Articles 5 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act Cap A9, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 and is, therefore, unconstitutional, unlawful, illegal, null and void.”

According to Aturu, “Oladimeji, a private security officer attached to Governor Gbenga Daniel on November 15, 2008, in the course of his duties, followed the governor to a church service at First Baptist Church, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Iam getting confused here o. The first report on this matter of hand twisting/chest punching mentioned Frank Osakwe as the Security Personel involved.Name has changed. Or is it because SSS denied the first Frank as a staff... I guess that Alberto Fujimori is working hard...Vanguard News Paper please help me...

Oladimeji is a joker. Everyone could see he was encroaching on Iyabo's space. One would feel uncomfortable and intimidated if someone comes straight to you and in your face.Definitely fear or flight factor comes into being. Iyabo couldnt move back,hence the push in the chest. I watched the you tube clip and it was Oladimeji who first approached Iyabo. This is a frivolous use of court time and the loser in this suit should be made to pay maximum legal costs.

Senator Iyabo should see herself as a respectable servant rather than getting herself involved with such issues,with due apologies i dont think the security agent can act without a course,Iyabo should face her duties as a public servant than seeking cheap popularity.She should go clear herself of fraud with Efcc.

That is a 10 million suit is a 10 million FUN . If someone send these security aide an assignment , it should done with common sense . That Oladimeji infringed and encroached on the lady's privacy even though it's done in the public .It was a GREAT ASSAULT on the Senator committed by a Oladimeji acting for the Governor . To save the face of the governor , things should be resolved amicably . Oladimeji can't defend his action in a church of God by touching even twisting a woman's hand . The governor did not order that in OYO STATE 's church.What kink of power drunkenness is this ? IYABO deserves a BIG apology . WE are CIVILIZED in NIGERIA and i don't expect that situation coming up .Lets put things right . Did the Governor authorized that assault on IYABO ? Oladimeji was just finding a way out that was why he went to court to confuse the the rule of law . No onein this world can distort the truth. It will prevail.

This man Oladimeji, it would be intriguing to know which agency he works for and his resume to qualify him to be the Governor's aide. I would not be surprised if he transform to be one of those 'area boys' parading in uniforms. If that's the case, I think the Gov. has a lot to answer for. If I am wrong, sincere apologies to Mr Oladimeji and I wish him all the best in his sponsored suit.

Its high time somebody call this intolerant Governor and his cronies to order.In the full glare of God and people you assaulted someone and she fought back in self defence as the pictures on you tube showed,you are still not done inspite of the reconcilliation moves here and there.Going to court in this case is like putting a cart before a horse because the iddentity of the perpetrator of the assault is still clear-Once it was Frank Osakwe as mentioned by the Governors team themselves now it is a faceless Bamidele Oladimeji.Whoever it is I think we have had enough of this power play and bunch of lies being fed to us daily on an issue that does not worth appearing on the cover of a National daily.Enough is enough Mr Governor!!!!!
