Welcome to your regular column. Last week, I taught on four keys to a world of signs and wonders. This week, as I conclude this series, I will show you three more keys to signs and wonders. Also, I will show you things you must guard against, to stay on the wavelength of the miraculous. Let’s begin
with the three keys:
Speak it boldly: In the school of signs and wonders, your mouth is a vital tool. It takes a sound to qualify for a sign (John 3:8). At the creation of the world, God had to make a sound for things to come into existence (Genesis 1). He did not keep His mouth shut! Whatever is too big for your mouth is too big for your life. God’s Word says: "...Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith." (Mark 11:23). Until you speak out boldly, what you believe has no reality. (Romans 10:10).
If you must see and enjoy signs and wonder, you must say something positive. From God’s Word, you are not permitted to see what you are not able to say. If you want to see the supernatural part of God, train your tongue to know what to say. God does not confirm everything you say; He confirms only what you say boldly. You need to become a bold talker of God’s Word, for it is the gateway to the supernatural. The Bible records that the apostles of Jesus spoke boldly with the eruption of signs and wonders (Acts 14:3). As you speak boldly, nothing shall be abandoned in your life anymore. Signs and wonders will answer for you at a natural frequency.
Pray it: When what you desire is not coming through, you have to resort to prayers. You pray it! No wonder, God’s Word says: "...What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." (Mark 11:24). When there is an opposition and you want to break the barrier, prayer is the key to use. When you are engaged in prayer warfare, you receive authority to deal with the problem. When you pray, you are reminding God of the issue at hand (Isaiah 43:26). Pray until the signs and wonders you need happen! Thank God for it: Thanksgiving is a two-edged sword. As you thank God for the things He has done, your mind Him of what remains to be done. You offer thanksgiving for things to happen. No wonder the Bible says: "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you" (1 Thessalonians 5:18). The Bible records that before Jesus raised Lazarus from death, He first gave thanks and wonders erupted (John 11:41-44). As you engage thanksgiving to God, problems are converted to miracles, pressures to pleasures and stress is converted to signs! Let me briefly show you some things you must guard against, if you must enjoy signs and wonders:
Watch the company you keep: Wrong company disconnects one from the realms of the miraculous (I Corinthians 15:33). You can’t keep ungodly friends and expect to have godly manifestations. That would amount to making a mockery of God. You must be cautious in your choice of friends. Once you keep company with anti-miracle people, they will destroy your faith in miracles. If you want to maintain the flow of the miraculous, you must be careful where you stand and with whom you walk. You can’t walk with wrong and have right answers. Have a miracle mind: It takes miracle thoughts to command and maintain the flow of signs. The Word of God says: "...For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." (Proverbs 23:7). You can’t think obstacles and have miracles. You can’t think impossibilities and expect possibilities. Often, many people allow thoughts of impossibilities to becloud their minds. No one can maintain the flow of miracles without a miracle mind. The woman with the issue of blood had this miracle mind I am talking about. That was what turned her captivity! She thought her way through to her miracle. (Luke 8:43-48).
Renew your mind: Romans 12:2 says: "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Since no one commands the flow of miracles without a miracle mind, you need to renew your mind, or else you remain a victim of obstacles. All the mighty acts that Jesus did came by the operation of His mind (Philippians 12:5). Jesus had a fertile mind, so the miraculous attended to Him naturally. It is impossible to operate the mind of Christ and the world not mind you.
Friend, the power to renew your mind is available if you are a child of God. You become His child, when you confess your sins and accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. You can be a child of God by saying this prayer: "Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I cannot help myself. Forgive me my sins. From today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me. Now I know I am born again!"
