Siasia unfolds plans on career E-mail

Olympic silver-medal  winning coach, Samson Siasia is returning to the country today where he is to unfold his future plans to Nigerians tomorrow.

After successfully steering Nigeria to the men’s football final at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, many football watchers had clamoured for Siasia to replace Shuaibu Amodu as coach of the Super Eagles but the NFF rebuffed such talks, saying that Amodu was not going to be replaced by Siasia, who starred for the Eagles at the 1994 World Cup in USA.

Even though he did not categorically declare his intentions to step into Amodu’s shoes, after his Olympics exploits,  Siasia, it would be remembered, did apply alongside Amodu for the plum Eagles job but lost out to the incumbent coach.

And now, Siasia, once and for all, is set to clear the air on his future coaching plan when he speaks to reporters tomorrow at Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja.

I wish Coach Siasia all the best in his future career. He is, no doubt, a very good coach that Nigeria will benefit from in many years to come.

Please lets not put words into Samson's mouth. As the saying goes, what will be, will be! One thing is for sure though, SAMSON is undoubtedly a good coach (perhaps the best in the country right now as his records both at the national and local club levels has shown) whether anyone likes it or not!!!

Aside football watchers in Nigeria, many football fans here keep wondering why Siasia shouldn´t be given the opportunity to be the Super Eagles Coach.

I think Nigerian should understand what it takes to coach national side and take them to the world cup and came back with silver medal and moreso to the olympic also back with silver medal respectively. Let us go back to the indeginous coaches records. I think Siasia has an outstandíng record better than Amodu. In the history of Nigeria football the so called NFA/NFF what they may be called are just there for personal interest not for the nation. 
 
I don't want Amodu to see Siasia a treat to the coaching crew. The mentality of we Africans has to change when it comes to development of sports and other national development activities especially Nigeria. 
 
Let me commend you captain Siasia for job well done and I wish you more success in your future coaching career.Your time will come when Nigeria football fedration will look for you,then it will be too late for them.

without any doubt, samson siasia is a great coach and nigerians are proud of him. whichever way we look at it, i believe he has a great coaching future ahead of him. 
however, i also believe that we should give Amodu Shuaibu a chance to also proof his worth. atleast since he took over the eagles job, he has maintained a very impresive record. 
siasia's time will definitely come and nobody will deny him the opportunity to coach the super eagles if he so wishes. 
we shouldn't forget that Amodu has a contract with NFF, which they are also bound to honor.  
Let's all continue to pray for Siasia that whatever future coaching plan he chooses, it should lead to celebration of more glories in his coaching career.

I wish to congratulate samson for a good job,and a good future ahead of him if,may i remind my fellow nigerian that amodu has an extremely long years of coaching experience than samson,he is well tested,who has coached local teams in our country and has won many cups has also coached outside of our country and did very well,was a one time super eagles coach,when jim nwobodo was sports minister,we all know what he faced under jim,yet he did well,If we want to see the true performance of Samson siasia let him take an offer in our local league than we will all know what am talking about,it will be recall,that ,Samson lost in the bid to coach super eagles,Amodu's track record is very far beyond samson record.I think it's time we renew our way of thinking.This is Amodu's time , pls my brothers ,let Samson wait for his time as super eagles coach if God's.I wish coach Amodu all the Best. willing.
