AKURE — FOUR leaders of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Ondo State have been arrested and detained at the Criminal Investigation Department, CID, Akure, for allegedly absconding with the money meant for governorship election of the party in the state.

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has said Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State was marred by irregularities and widespread violence that either scared away many voters or significantly affected voting in many polling units.
Governor Segun Mimiko was Saturday, on course for a historic re-election after first results showed him dusting his two major opponents in their respective homes in the gubernatorial election in Ondo State.

ATLEAST 15 persons were held Friday in Akure, Ondo State capital over illegal voting ahead of today’s governorship election.
Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) on Thursday warned politicians and political parties to guard their utterances, to avoid bloodshed in the Ondo State governorship poll on Saturday.
