Faith in anything takes a tremendous amount of willpower. Faith is the soil on which hope is cultivated and where both forces are present they can be harnessed to do the hitherto impossible. Contrary to popular perception believing everything will fail is in itself an act of faith if we take as true that what we believe we will receive.
If anyone had asked me what I was like as a child I would have answered that I was an almost model child. I would have told of how I was reserved and respectful and how I was so afraid of getting punished that I hardly ever got into trouble. I barely have any scars on my body and its a testament that I wasn’t rough or prone to fights.
Traffic is not always a friend. Driving or being driven can be a pleasurable or tortured experience depending on how smooth the roads are and how fast the car can move. Its even better in a car with all the latest buttons and gizmos. I have a rather unladylike love for cars and speed.
A house is laid on a foundation to give it support, strength and even structure. It’s not feasible to build a house without a base on which everything now stands. Human beings also have foundations and I would dare to say that our parents are the foundations on which we build the rest of our lives.
There are a few things that rattle me and cause me to freak out. They are those things that are outside of my control and over the years I have done a lot of work spiritually, emotionally and physically to overcome my fears.
Freedom is one of the most talked about attainments or achievements in the history of man. It presupposes that at one point in time everyone goes through some form of captivity. We can be held captive by all sorts of situations and limitations and yearning for freedom is a goal most ideal.
A bridge by definition is a structure built to connect areas separated by uneven or unpassable terrain; bridges are built over bodies of water and they make travel by land shorter and even possible. Bridges are a necessity for travel and our cars and trains travel on them constantly.
There is a school of thought that says a human being is a sum total of all his life’s experiences. We are shaped by the things we go through and whether we express our feelings or not we are changed by the emotions that are there. The world we live in does not afford anyone the liberty of being transparent.
Our’s has become a make believe world in which we invest a significant amount of time and energy attempting to force our realities to align with our thoughts or imaginations. We now live in a world where a large segment of the population believes that whatever can be visualized can be actualized.
Man in the mirror is one of the most philosophical songs by Michael Jackson. It asks the listener to take an inward look at their own reflection and explore their minds for answers. To begin the process of changing the world by changing themselves.
A little girl called Ashley is on television suffering from a serious condition. She is covered in bruises and her parents have to examine her daily to be sure she is not hurt. She seems to enjoy biting and scratching herself till she bleeds and is prone to jumping off high things.
There are two obvious sides to every story; both sides have not more than the same characters in common. The sides are true to all involved based on perception and reception. A story that involves actual people, happening in real time and is similar to rivulets of water coming downstream.
A story is told of a Tibetan monk who goes about life being mindful of his duties as a guard. He takes his responsibilities very seriously at his post and never leaves it unmanned. Apart from brief breaks where he is relieved of his duties he stays alert always and his domain his never attacked; in the whole monastery it is the safest place and everyone wonders how he does it.
There comes a time when the calmest people explode. In times of contemplation I have often wondered about those people who never seem to get angry or even loose composure. I am not as quick tempered as I used to be but I have not reached the stage in my emotional development where my composure is absolutely stable.
