UYO—Akwa Ibom lawmaker in the National Assembly, Mr Michael Enyong, has flagged-off the distribution of free Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, JAMB, forms to prospective candidates from Uyo federal constituency.
The federal lawmaker, who stated this in Uyo, said he will go further to provide scholarships to the best performing candidates in the JAMB examination, to enable them start and complete their educational programmes in their choice institutions.
Enyong, who described the gesture as “Knowledge Development Intervention Programme” to boost the development of the state, said he was compelled to embark on the exercise because there are many brilliant students from poor homes who may wish to go to the universities but lack support from their parents and, orphans who have lost their parents without having anyone to cater for them educationally.
The lawmaker, who personally went to all the select centres in the constituency for enlightenment, screening and data capturing for the free JAMB forms also disclosed that, he had been a victim of financial support in the past, when he lost his mother at a tender age.
