Alleged thugs claimed to be loyal to Senator Shehu Sani have, Sunday, attacked the APC secretariat in Kaduna with local weapons.
Reports indicated that the alleged displeased supporters of the Senator stormed the Party’s Secretariat to register their displeasure over the disciplinary action taken against the Senator by the party few days back.
The thugs numbering about 50 and chanting the Senator’s name hit at the gate of the party Secretariat on Ali Akilu Way with local weapons.
However, a detachment of the Nigerian Police has been deployed to curtail the situation.
Recall that the party had on 30 November, 2016 suspended the Senator who represents Kaduna Central Senatorial District, over what it described as “illegalities committed against the party.”
The suspension letter which was signed by the party’s Secretary, Mallam Awal Abdulhamid Garba was addressed to Senator Sani directly.
Also recall that Senator Sani had replied to his suspension by saying it would not stand. He had also accused the Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, of instigating his suspension.
His words had read, “For a man who has been unable to address the pervasive insecurity and genocide in southern Kaduna, for a man who has been unable to stem the tide of rampant kidnapping and abductions in Kaduna, suspending Shehu Sani cannot be counted as an achievement.”
However, the thugs who stormed the party’s Secretariat rather created further confusion as to the verbal fisticuff between the party and the Senator.
