Abuja— The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, PTAD, has cleared the arrears owed 4,438 pensioners in the North-West and South-East zones of the country, bringing to an end years of suffering that had become their lot.
The feat became possible following the successful capturing and documentation of the pensioners on the PTAD payroll by the new leadership of the Federal Government agency headed by Sharon Ikeazor.
Vanguard learned that PTAD had in November 2015 carried out the verification and biometric capture of no fewer than 28,352 civil service pensioners in both zones.
A statement from the public Affairs Unit of PTAD said: “After necessary computations and further checks by government auditors, the management of PTAD last month approved the payment of the pension arrears of 4,438 pensioners who have been completely omitted from monthly pension and have endured long years of neglect and suffering.”
