In continuation of its scholarship programme for indigent students of Anioma extraction, the Anioma Association USA, Inc., Georgia Chapter, Friday awarded scholarship to three (3) Students studying in tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The scholarship awards event now in its third year and waxing stronger was presented at a brief ceremony held at the Orchid Hotels, Asaba, Delta State. The new set of beneficiaries included Miss. Mr. Martin Chukwurah, President of the association, in his opening remarks said that the annual scholarship awards is one of the association’s many projects of impact that would create visible improvements in the lives of the Anioma people, most especially the indigent ones who easily fall through the cracks of the walls of government bureaucracy and red tapes, and consequently get forgotten and left behind by the rest of the society.

Chukwurah who was represented by Dr. Charles Oseji, former President of the Association said that education remained one of the most potent tools for success in today’s highly competitive world. “We envisage an Anioma land where the level of literacy ranks among the top three, if not the very first, when compared to other senatorial districts in Nigeria, within the shortest possible time, he said.

He further stated that the history of Nigeria will be grossly incomplete without mentioning the invaluable inputs of Anioma sons and daughters too numerous to mention. Accordingly, “That window of opportunity to shine at the brightest is what we would like to extended to the future generations of our beautiful land” Chukwurah declared.

Dr. Oseji also took time to explain the composition of Anioma Association, Georgia Chapter, which is a non-profit organization of Anioma sons and daughters resident in the United States of America. He called on interested applicants to visit http://www. aniomaga.org for the 2017 scholarship.
