A faith-based organisation, Bestway International Christian Centre, BICC, has announced plans to train and empower Nigerians at a two-day event scheduled for this weekend at BICC conference centre, Alagbole, Lagos.
According to the convener, Pastor Ayo Adesomoju, the training is aimed at encouraging self-empowerment, especially with the economic recession in the country.
“We intend to train Nigerians on how to make paint, soap, detergent, cake and small chops. These are businesses that require little capital as startup and manpower. There will also be training on how to design and own personal and business website. The training is absolutely free and
He added that the training will ensure that participants are no longer idle and become easy tempted to engage in illicit act.
“It is a popular saying that idle hands are devil’s workshop. When people are idle, they are easily lured to illicit acts and activities. Poverty and joblessness are well pronounced in the land but with this training and empowerment packages, we are confident that many participants will be able to meet their basic needs as well as become employers of labours,” he said.
